A lot of people these days are opting to build a computer themselves, rather than buying a ready-made computer. By building a computer yourself, you have the liberty of getting a configuration you desire and also freedom to choose good quality and genuine parts for your computer. While buying parts to build your own computer, you should go about it in a particular order, as a lot of these components are interdependent, like a motherboard and processor or motherboard and drivers. It is not compulsory to follow the exact same ‘building a computer checklist’ given below, but it does give a logical sequence to build a computer.
Building a Computer Checklist
Case
The computer case you choose will determine settings of all the internal parts and also the look of your computer from the outside. A good, strong case will make it easier for you to place all internal parts properly along with protecting them from possible damage from external sources. Cases come in various sizes and you need to choose the one which suits your requirements the best. Mid-tower, is the most popular choice, as it has enough space within to hold all internal components.
CPU
The CPU or Central Processing Unit, is the heart of every computer, as it is responsible for the performance of your computer. The four main factors you need to bear in mind while picking up a CPU are – Socket type, FSB Speed, Model/Speed number and the packaging. Every CPU needs a cooler and most of them come with one. In case your CPU does not have a cooler, buy one separately. Higher the FSB speed, the better. Consult your seller regarding the model numbers, as he will be able to suggest which one suits your requirement. Intel and AMD are the most preferred choices when it comes to processors.
Motherboard
This is another essential component of the computer which has a huge impact on its performance. The computer motherboard will determine what processor you can use, the various drives you can attach, the type of memory that can be used and also what external devices can be attached to the computer. If you are looking for a high-end computer which requires installation of sound cards, graphic cards or any other drivers, pick a motherboard which will support all these. It will be a little expensive than the basic ones. Again, consult your seller regarding the various brands and model numbers of available motherboards in the market. Read more on computer motherboard types and 32bit vs 64bit processors.
Drives
All the data on the computer gets stored on a hard drive. Size, connection speed and RPM speed need to be taken into consideration while selecting a hard drive. It is recommended that all modern computers should have hard drives with at least 60GB storage capacity. Don’t go below that. The maximum size is then determined by keeping in mind your usage. Higher the storage size, higher the price. Optical drives are the other type of drives which can be included in a computer. CD-ROM, DVD-ROM and DVD writes are different types of optical drives. Maximum people go with a combination of DVD writer + CD writer when it comes to optical drives, as it makes life easier by facilitating file, music or movies storage and sharing. Floppy drives are virtually extinct you can conveniently skip them in your computer as well.
Expansion Cards
The various network, video, sound and graphic expansion cards available in the market improve the quality and functionality of your system in a big way. Your motherboard will determine how many and which expansion cards you can use. Most motherboards now a days come with a basic graphic card which is enough for basic requirements. If you are looking for a high-end computer for high speed gaming or heavy graphic related work , then you will have to attach a graphic card to your motherboard. An 8x or GeforceFX card, along with 128/256 MB card memory are good options.
Operating System
An operating system acts as an interface between the user and the machine. Pick an operating system which you are comfortable in or which will support your work. The popular operating systems available in the market are Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Linux and Macintosh. Normally, Windows XP should be enough for basic use, while Windows XP and Windows 7 are more suitable for professional and high-end usage. And yes, buy original versions, please.
Memory
The computer memory consists of RAM (Random Access Memory) and ROM (Read-only Memory). Of these, RAM is the one which needs attention as it impacts your operating speed to a great extent. Higher the RAM, the better. 256MB is the minimum RAM a computer should have for it to function smooth and fast. This will be enough for home use computers, but high-end users should go for at least 1GB RAM. Your motherboard defines the type of memory you can install, but most of then these days support Double Data Rate (DDR) memory. DDR333 and DDR400 are the more popular choices. A very important point to be kept in mind while picking up the memory is ,buy the memory type which is equal to or more in speed than the actual speed of your processor’s FSB speed.
Input/Output Devices
Next, you will have to buy all the input and output devices which will be attached to your CPU. A computer mouse and keyboard is used to feed, manage and organize data in the system. A Monitor is a must to view contents of your system. There is not much to differentiate between different types of computer keyboards and mouses available in the market. Buy branded ones which have a good warranty period. Also get a smooth mouse pad for your mouse. Computer monitors have variants like flat screen, LCD, plasmas. They also come in several sizes like 14″, 18″ or 21″. Pick whatever you are comfortable with. Consult websites or friends and go through user reviews to get a better idea on the input/output devices. Printers, headphones, speakers and scanners are other optional devices you can buy as per your needs.

The Mobile World Congress 2010 (World 3GSM Congress) finally ended on Feb 18th, 2010 (local time at Barcelona). In the past five hectic days, the event welcomed 31 mobile phone manufacturers from all parts of the world and exhibited more than 90 pieces of new models which greatly dazzled visitors and attendees from 200 countries.
In this exciting world event, mobile device manufacturers and communication service providers tried their best to bring their cutting edge, brand new products and technologies to this show. You must have a lot of fun with these exciting products and technologies. However, it’s the new models that really matter, and considering you may have missed some new models in this big, big show, we provide you with the reviews on eight smart phones that captured the most attention at MWC 2010.
The hottest star – Samsung Wave S8500
Samsung Wave S8500 is the world’s first mobile phone running on Bada operating system and the only device coming with a brand new operation system. Samsung is long-known to have a “unique talent” in display screen, and this time they spared no skills in S8500. The introduction of “Super AMOLED” screen stepped Samsung S8500 up to a new level. Thus, Samsung Wave S8500, without any doubt, ranks the first place among these eight smart phones.
Super Powerful Monster – HTC Desire
It seems that HTC has finally found its point of growth. From HTC G1 to now the latest HTC Nexus One, HTC has gained wider and wider notice along with the hot trend of Android OS. What’s more, HTC even jointed with Google to promote the Nexus one. HTC has released three new models at MWC 2010, among which HTC Desire is no wonder the hottest one.
Samsung I8520 – A Mobile Phone or A Projector?(three)
Samsung Wave S8500 is such a brilliant model that it even hides the light of other Samsung high-end models. Actually, there is another Samsung mobile phone released at MWC 2010, which is called Samsung I8520. As the successor of Samsung I8510, there are some big changes in this improved version. It is only Samsung who dares to incorporate an 8MP camera and a projector into a single communication device.
Acer Liquid e – French Style
Acer is a well known brand in PC market, and now, after acquisition of E-ton, Acer has decided to try its fortune in the mobile phone industry. The Acer A1, which is designed by professional French team and runs on Android system, is its first big surprise for us. After nearly half years preparation, Acer comes back and brings us the brand new Acer Liquid e.
Huawei U8800 – Bellwether of Huawei Android models(five)
It seems Huawei has done a lot of homework for this world’s communication event. It released a full range of mobiles at MWC 2010 which completed their appearances at all aspects (high end, middle end, low end and smart ones). As the bellwether of all these models, Huawei U8800 was the hottest Chinese model in this congress.
HTC HD mini – A Considerate Gift (six)
Ever since its first appearance in shelves, the hardware monster HTC HD has been well received, and it seems HTC has already been getting used to the strategy of “using monster hardware to cater for tech geeks”. To prove this, HTC continued to release the HTC HD 2 which also gained much favorable comments from users. When we thought HTC would stick to this strategy and release another giant set at MWC 2010, DH mini made its appearance, which came as a big pleasant surprise for all of us.
Motorola QUENCH – Something You Don’t Know About It (seven)
Motorola is coming back, that’s a fact without any doubt. This mobile giant who was once swaying between Linux system and Windows Mobile system has finally found the answer. Motorola has discovered the value of innovation following the success of Android system and the popularity of Motorola models running on this system. At this year’s MWC, Motorola released Motorola QUENCH as a prelude of its rebound.
Sony Ericsson X10 mini – A Bit Lonely (eight)
Compared to other mobile phone manufacturers, the developing pace of Sony Ericsson was relatively slow. While more and more competitors were concentrating on one single system, Sony Ericsson chose to be greedy and wanted to take advantages of all systems, which was overwhelming its R&D teams. As to its three new models released at MWC 2010, we prefer calling them “upgrading ones” instead of calling them as “new models”.
Summary
These are the eight smartphones we specially recommend for you. Although the giant Nokia didn’t release any new models at MWC 2010, the competition would still be fierce in the coming years. Due to the fact that iPhone, Symbian 3 system and Windows Phone 7 are still on the developing stage, the Android models are the prevailing trend of this year’s smartphone market. We believe you may have a clear idea about the trend of 2010 after reading this article.

A computer registry is a special repository area found only in Windows operating systems which stores critical data and information responsible for the proper operation of your Windows machine. When your computer’s operating system performs its tasks (such as when opening and running files, during computer start up, when executing applications etc) it goes and reads data from the registry or writes data to it. It is essential therefore to keep that special computer repository area in top shape.
Because I know the importance of optimizing and cleaning my computer’s registry (by the way I have a Windows VISTA and Windows 7) I have started searching online to find the best registry cleaner software for optimizing my machines. This became even more necessary as my Windows machines started giving me some error messages and became slower than before. The most popular registry cleaner software that I found online is RegCure from ParetoLogic. Because I am a computer and technology geek (being an engineer this is inevitable ) I always do a LOT of research and analysis before selecting any software product to buy. From my research I found out that ParetoLogic (the company that develops RegCure) is an official Microsoft Certified Partner!! Well, let me tell you that to become a Microsoft Certified Partner is not easy at all. This is a prestigious status which means that ParetoLogic is a trusted company which develops high caliber software products. From this fact only, RegCure started gaining a high trust value for me.
However I wanted to read more information about RegCure and searched specifically for RegCure Reviews. To save you time and hassle of searching by yourself, I’m listing below some excerpts from the various Reviews of Regcure that I found online.
“After spending 2 hours of doing a regcure testdrive in order to write the following regcure review, I can honestly say that Regcure is a worthwhile program. It isn’t a one fix all solution for every PC problem you encounter, but running a registry cleaner like Regcure on a regular basis would help keep your computer running smooth.” registryrepaircenter.com
“The results of our RegCure review test run were pretty amazing. The total boot time of our laptop decreased from 4 minutes 42 seconds to 2 minutes and 44 seconds! This was a huge improvement. The overall speed of the laptop is also much improved, and there have been no errors or crashes.” registrycleanerzone.com
“After reading several user reviews and testimonials, I had enough confident about Regcure. It is compatible with all Windows versions and offers also a free scan. The free scan is an excellent way to verify its capabilities since it will definitely show you how effective Regcure can be for cleaning up your registry.” Ezinearticles.com
Because I am a very picky person with regards to software products, I wanted to learn about the negative Regcure reviews as well. Basically the negative Regcure reviews had to do with misunderstanding of the product’s capabilities. People think that Regcure can clean and repair viruses and malware. This is not true at all. If a virus corrupts your registry, then you must remove the virus with a proper antivirus software. Regcure will not help you to repair your computer from viruses and spyware.
To summarize, after more than a year of using RegCure I’m very satisfied with it. It is a safe software and effectively optimizes my Windows registry. I believe it is the best value for money as well. Check out the following RegCure Review for some more information about the product. I suggest you to download RegCure software and perform a Free Scan. After that, you can testify whether the tool can be helpful for your system.
Along with hardware changes, the new nano also gets the same updated iPod software as the iPod classic. Although basic menu navigation hasn’t changed, the look of those menus has. In fact, it now looks much more like a miniature version of the iPod Classic and that has to be a good thing. The edges are unadorned save for the standard Apple connector (no mini-USB still), hold switch and 3.5mm audio socket on the base. But it’s battery life where the biggest enhancements have occurred: in our tests the nano played shuffled audio for 31.5hrs and video for 6.5hrs while the classic lasted a staggering 45hrs for audio and 9hrs 45mins for video Apple even reckons the 160GB classic will last longer than our 80GB test unit.
The first generation model was launched on September 7, 2005 combining the features of both the iPod shuffle and iPod classic. Apple launched this product with an intention of replacing the iPod mini which was discontinued on the same day. This new interface, found on both the Nano and the Classic (the latter is now the moniker for the full-size, video-capable iPod), is less of wholesale change than it is a facelift. The interface update consists of two primary components: The introduction of Cover Flow for visually navigating through your album collection; and the repurposing of the white space on the right-hand side of the screen to introduce visual content previews. It worked perfectly with my 4 GB Nano 3rd Generation, but when I connected it to my 80 GB iPod Classic; I found one problem that sometimes occurred. I had about 40 GB of songs on it (about 12,000 songs), and it would sometimes quit speaking while scrolling through the huge list of songs and artists, and I had to reset it and start over.
The so called “fatty” moved the nano to a widescreen layout built around a 23 QVGA display which can play video, just like an iPod Classic. The nano was made a wider but it is just as thin as ever. The iPod classic is available in silver and black, and has an anodized aluminum and polished stainless steel enclosure. The investment expert now anticipates an updated, lower-priced iPod nano in the near future on top of refreshes for both the iPod classic and iPod touch. Further details are unavailble, though Apple has traditionally increased capacities of the iPod in August or September as flash memory and hard drive technology improves; the company took the unusual step this year of doubling iPod touch capacity to 32GB just a few months after the product was introduced.
The second is a totally revised new user interface the Nano shares with the updated new iPod Classic. The third its its new physical form factor. The spy photos are of the classic, rumor-enforcing poor quality but some colors could be recognized including light green, light blue and maybe a cranberry color along with 2 others that are said to be available when it’s released. The new Nano’s will come in 4GB and 8GB capacities and will have video capability. This year’s revisions settle on one capacity for iPod classic storage, reformulate the iPod nano, and bring new hardware features to the iPod touch. Pricing remains high, in our opinion, showing Apple’s confidence in maintaining its large product pricing margins.
I simply loaded my iPod with music, several classic books I’ve been meaning to read (I missed The Great Gatsby in school). I also loaded up a videotaped conference I needed to take notes from for work. It’s now the iPod Classic , to identify it as the device that started the craze. The revamped model sports an entirely metal case and is even thinner than it’s predecessor.
I recently bought a 4g ipod nano 3rd generation without knowing that you needed windows xp or vista to use it. I am not able to get the xp working at this time and do not feel like going out to buy vista. Gone is the squat body of the 3rd generation. The new nano returns to roughly its original size, but instead of being flat, it’s slightly oval in shape with a curved body and screen. The latest version also ushers in brighter, more vivid case colors–a departure from the muted tones of the previous generation. Since the Nano itself has a curved face, the glass that covers the screen is curved, too; during normal use I didn’t notice any distortion caused by the curved glass cover.
Apple’s got to leverage their use of the h.264 codec here and deliver 720×480 at a bare minimum or it’s going to be 2 video generations behind right out of the gate. The fourth generation nano comes up with high end technology. Aside from its 8GB to 16GB storage capacity, additional software and hardware components can be seen on the player. Like the first iteration of the iPod Nano, the 4GB second-generation Nano ($199 as of 1/9/07) is small. It weighs 1.4 ounces and measures roughly a quarter-inch thick–thin and light enough to be barely noticeable sitting in your shirt pocket.
The iPod Nano 4G is a major improvement over the previous generation in terms of design and new features. Tilt sensor and genius feature add a lot more value to the new iPod Nano and give enough reason to upgrade. First generation iPod Nano owners may have a little more to worry about than the simple fact their devices are going on three years old. Japan’s trade ministry recently blamed the battery in the 1st gen iPod nano’s for causing three fires. Our CNET Labs team achieved an average of 23 hours of audio playback and 5.7 hours of video from the fourth-generation iPod Nano. The test results aren’t bad, but the numbers are down slightly from the 29 hours of audio and 6.7 hours of video our same tests pulled from the third-generation iPod Nano.
This generation iPod nanos is available in several bright colors among which blue, green, yellow, red and purple. You can choose from the 8GB version and the 16GB flash memory version. I was afraid it was broken but I went online to see if I could find a place for 1st Generation iPod nano repair. I found a great place, sent my nano iPod 1 off and received it back in the mail in a very short time. MP3 reviews Apple iPod Nano (2nd generation) and concludes that 2G Nano doesn’t really bring anything new to the table in the fast-advancing world of MP3 players, but the improvements over the original are certainly welcome. This player is sure to be a top choice among a wide range of users, and it’s a stellar option for first-timers.
Geeks popular online retailer with various cheap mp3 players , sent us the third generation, 8GB version of the Apple iPod Nano. Read on to find out our take on the latest incarnation of the popular media player. The first and second generation iPods used the WM8721, while the 3G iPods and iPod mini used the WM8731L. Since the iPod nano uses the same audio codech chip as the 4G, U2, and iPod photo players, its sound quality will be nearly identical to those other players. It’s a more modern design and even the newly announced 5th generation iPods use this new look. The polycarbonate shell is also pretty strong although it flexes uncomfortably over the screen area.
The fourth-generation iPod nano isn’t the dramatic overhaul last year’s nano was. If you’ve already got a 3G nano, the 4G model’s new features may not be compelling enough to get you to upgrade–especially if you prefer the 3G model’s more-pocket-friendly shape. So I get this notice in the mail the other day about an Apple 1st Generation iPod nano (yes, they spell it with a lowercase “n” – I never realized that). There was a class action lawsuit about an “excessive scratching” issue with this nano and that Apple failed to disclose the issue. Current-generation iPod touch models are available in 8GB ($179), 16GB ($259), and 32GB ($349) configurations while previous-generation options only include the 16GB model for $219, and the 32GB model for $279.
Recently Apple has placed the new generation iPod nano’s (3rd generation) on the refurbished Special Deals section of the Apple store. You can follow the link here to visit the page and purchase a certified refurbished iPod nano for a lot less than the NEW price. The 2nd generation iPod Nano harkens back to the iPod Mini with metallic, multi-colored shells (though as diminutive as ever) and comes in an 8 GB model. The Shuffle has been completely redesigned and shrunk down to the size of a matchbook. These include the Mac OS X Dashboard, the design of the second-generation iPod nano, and an instant messaging-based file-sharing system. The Dashboard patent is dubbed User interface element with auxiliary function and was originally filed for in March 2006.
It comes in an Aluminum case now and is much thinner than the 1st generation of [tags]iPod [tags]Nano . Battery life offers 24hrs nonstop and Gapless playback. Apple today introduced the new fourth generation iPod nano, the thinnest iPod ever featuring a sleek new design with a curved aluminum and glass enclosure, in nine vibrant colors. The new iPod nano incorporates Apple’s breakthrough Genius technology which automatically creates playlists from songs in your music library that go great together, with just one click.
They protect the nano’s entire body save its screen and bottom ports, even covering the Click Wheel and Hold switch with thin, easy to use rubber. They’re not flashy, but for the price, they’ll work. In photo slideshow mode, you can browse through an entire album quickly using the Click Wheel without facing any lag. As for image clarity, photos appeared reasonably clear on its small screen and we had no qualms with it. The diminutive Click Wheel, which now has a concave center key, can be hard for large hands to manage. The dock connector is so close to the headphone jack that we had to unplug the former to disconnect the latter.
Throughout all models, the screen remains the same 1.5-inch diagonal measurement and the beautifully designed click wheel remains intact. This wheel takes some getting used to, but it is definitely accessible. Tapping at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock positions activates the main menu and playback functions. September 8, 2005 Apple introduced the iPod nano, a miniscule yet full-featured iPod that is thinner than a standard #2 pencil and comes with a colour screen and Apple’s Click Wheel. The iPod nano is available immediately in white or black in a 4GB model priced at just US$249 and a 2GB model priced at just US$199.
When playing music, turning the nano on its side activates Cover Flow, which allows you to scroll through albums with the clickwheel. Video gets played back in landscape mode as well, and the display rotates in either direction to accommodate righties and lefties easily. Not only that; Apple has made the process of navigating through two thousand songs a breeze with its proprietary click-wheeling interface. All this in a MP3 62% smaller than the iPod mini, and although there were a few sacrifices to its miniaturization, the improvements far outweigh them. When you use the click wheel to scroll through your library the list blazes past in a blur, but now a large letter appears on the screen to show where you’ve reached in the alphabet. It sounds weird but it works incredibly well.
Now that I just take it out I notice a small dent in the metal back plate and stress marks around the click wheel =/ But besides that, I don’t think I’ve had a problem with overheating. And it seems the problem is with Japanese nano’s. The player comes with the Apple signature click wheel and navigation system. It hooks up seamlessly with iTunes and other standard Apple software. It has the same turn-wheel control as the last few, and once you learn how to manipulate that, you can control it with one finger. Still, as with all iPods, you have to do a lot of scrolling through lists to get the tune you’re looking for.
The nano features a color display, uses the now-familiar click wheel for navigation, has a built-in stopwatch and a few games, but is half the thickness of the iPod mini and 62 percent smaller by volume. It offers up to 14 hours of battery life and uses the same connector as the regular iPod and iPod mini, so you’ll be able use existing iPod accessories. The click wheel has the familiar look that you have come to rely upon. What has changed is that it is much more responsive than some of the earlier models.
I have an adapter on my computer because it is ancient like me! When you first connect your iPod to your computer, you’ll also be prompted to update the software running on your iPod. The installation of iTunes, and the iPod software is all fairly straightforward although if you’re using a Windows PC you might run into a fairly common InstallShield error. This only occurs the first time you connect iPod nano to your Mac, and if you’ve never connected it to another computer.
You can use it like a portable hard drive to transfer files from one computer to another and view text notes downloaded from your computer. There is also a world clock, calendar, and stopwatch, and, if your eyes are sharp and hands nimble, you can even play solitaire and several other games that come pre-loaded (it was too small for me!). This can be comparable to a hard drive in a home computer. Many people use their unit as an external hard drive to store data off of their computers. This is the guy who coolly poured millions of his own dollars into an unknown and direly unprofitable company called Pixar before anybody had even made a full-length computer-animated movie. Is that possible?’ And everybody immediately looked pretty scared.
Let the process update your iPod until it says that it is safe to disconnect the iPod from the computer. To disconnect the cable from the iPod press the two little buttons on the side of the thingy.
Take a standard business card, rip off one-quarter of it lengthwise, and what you’re left with is about the size of the player. The device weighs 1.5 ounces and measures about a quarter-inch thick–you can barely tell that you have the Nano in your shirt pocket. Apple has achieved cult status with its iPod MP3 players, and by clever marketing has been able to ensure their integration in different vehicle types. According to information given out by the firm, 22 million of these portable devices have been sold so far. Changing an iPod battery is unlike changing the batteries in a flashlight or even other digital music players. Instead of buying the batteries at your local drugstore, you’ll need to work directly with Apple to complete your request.
The lineup of iPod nano players now includes 1GB, 2GB and 4GB models priced at $149, $199 and $249 respectively. Meanwhile, the iPod shuffle family has become more affordable: the 512MB model costs $69, while 1GB flavour is priced at $99. If we look at the technical aspects of Nano, you will find that this Nano-machine is very much smarter than the other MP3 Players that are available in the market. Its dimensions are 69.8 x 52.3 x 6.5 mm and it weighs 49.2 grams approx. The iPod already dominates the personal digital audio player market, and iTunes dominates the online music service market. Apple revealed that more than 1000 accessories are now available for the iPod, giving it the ecosystem and momentum that Windows enjoys in the PC space.
You can do neat things like shaking the player for shuffle. The new nano is also more environmentally friendly and uses fewer problematic materials. If you are a clean freak, you might not enjoy smudged fingerprints on the player’s back. The included earbuds sound good, but can get uncomfortable after long uses. It doesn’t show in the picture above, but the player picked up at least 20 scratches from just being placed on top of and picked up from a smooth table. None of the scratches are deep, so they can likely be buffed/polished away, but it’s still a design element that should have stayed in 2005 with the original nano.
The higher the volume you set your Apple iPod Nano MP3 player to, the more power it will require. Large headphones require more power to operate their speakers. This sliver of a thing is the latest iPod music player, the . He wrote the report to assess PortalPlayer — he maintained his “Hold” rating on that stock and kept his US$10 price target, given the companyis loss of the iPod nano business. As for Apple, its stock has continued on an upward trend since Tuesday is product announcements, reaching $74.36, a 0.22% boost for the day, as of 2:19 PM EST on Thursday.
For all its faults, the iPod nano remains an excellent music player. It has never been a sensible choice for watching video – the touch is a much better bet for that – but as a device for listening to music, audiobooks and podcasts, it’s unrivalled. For instance, earlier this year I reviewed an Oregon Scientific MP3 player that had a very similar earphone lanyard included, with both player with lanyard costing slightly more than $100. Come to think of it, that lanyard had an innovation that Apple’s doesn’t. it included a clever little parking space for each earphone, consisting of a small magnet onto which each earphone could latch when not in use. Super fast (up to 4x faster) DVD movie conversion in high video quality and audio quality plus many advanced features enable you to turn your iPod into a portable movie player and theater. Convert all your DVD collections to iPod and enjoy watching iPod movies, TVs, home videos on the go.
I’ve used many MP3 players over the years and Apple’s system is still up there with the best, allowing you to browse through long lists of albums and tracks effortlessly. It does have its disadvantages ? you have to use the hold switch more often than you do with players that don’t have touch sensitive controls in order to avoid turning the volume up and down inadvertently, but its ease of use outweighs this relatively small inconvenience ten to one.
The PDX-30 has the same design as the PDX-50, but includes a docking station for the iPod on top. It comes in a variety of colors including black, blue, grey, and pink. There is no iPod dock on bottom. Still I think this is very close to the real thing. To resolve this issue Apple has released a “dock adapter” which sits on the bottom of the nano and brings it up to the required size for compatiability. This way, third party vendors will only have to release ONE product, as opposed to one for iPod, one for iPod nano, and so forth.
The iPod Nano comes with many other accessories, like speakers (speaker docks), headphones, leather ipod cases, armbands, car adapters, fm transmitters (iTrip), waterproof cases, and separate chargers.
It does not however fit into the speaker & charger thing that I had for my old one because of the headphone jack movement. That made me a little angry. Arrange a phone call with an Apple Expert who specializes in your exact question. Talk to us now or later at your convenience. It’s going to get like mobile phones, new ones coming out every week!
The phone would also be likely to be available globally much more quickly than the iPhone, according to Chang. Whereas most people might not worry so much about a scratch on their cell phone, the iPod reflects wear more just because of its good looks. Each earphone offers small, medium or large silicone caps to help ensure they fit in the user’s ear. Colors which are currently available are designed to match the nine iPod nano 4G colors and include silver, black, violet, blue, green, yellow, orange, red and pink .
Now in its third generation, the iPod nano replaced the iPod Mini as a portable music player for people who want 4 or 8 gigs of music. Because of its small size, its screen and case are reportedly easily susceptible to damage. The packaging is reminiscent of a jewelry box as it showcases the nano as a prized possession. The new Nano is gorgeously designed and the aluminium case has a lovely tactile quality. The 4GB model we looked at is available in silver, green, blue and pink, but the 2GB model only comes in silver, while the 8GB version is only available in black.
The minimal delivery lead time on imprinted products are 10 working days. Express Service products (imprinted) may be delivered within 7 days.
We’re all going back to the days of curved screens where all the light reflects off them. I had a phone with a curved screen about six years ago (I liked the look of it when I bought it), and you couldn’t see a bloody thing in it no matter which way you held it, indoors or out. Even from an extreme angle where you can start to see the roundness of the glass, the screen still remains clear and readable. In response to a command from a user, the dashboard is invoked and the widgets are shown on the screen. The user can activate the dashboard at any time, causing the dashboard to temporarily replace the existing user interface display on the user’s screen.
In our late-capitalist, consumer-driven society, it’s up to the consumers to call the shots. We can buy fair trade coffee beans. Hard-disk drives in the bigger iPods do the same thing, of course, but they’re bulkier and, because they have mechanical parts, are prone to crashing in the same way PC drives do. Apple cleverly cut a deal with Samsung for a discount price on its 2-gigabyte flash memory chips and put 16 chips in each iPod Nano–enough memory to hold 1,000 songs.
It also has a built-in motion sensor that lets you simply shake the nano to shuffle your music, and easy connection with Nike’s iPod+ running system for gym bunnies. A slim (6.6mm) sliver of cool. The games available on almost every iPod except the iPod shuffle are brick, parachute, solitaire, music quiz. The most interesting game is the music quiz, playing some fragments of some songs and waiting the user to identify the song from a list. The new iPod nano also features a refined user interface, a high resolution portrait display and a built-in accelerometer which automatically switches to Cover Flow when rotated and automatically goes into Shuffle mode when lightly shaken. The new iPod nano gives users up to 24 hours of music playback or four hours of video playback and is available worldwide immediately in an 8GB model $249 RRP (including GST) and a 16GB model for just $329 RRP (including GST).
A free and open format that anyone could support — no, it’s not the same at the Fairplay DRM applied to the AAC on the iTunes Music Store. So if someone wants to make the switch from iPod (I’ve been considering it for awhile), they can’t unless the reconvert their CDs library from the DEFAULT format for iTunes and the iPod or lose even more quality & time reconverting converted material. I also have a Bose deck to hear the music from the Nano. My I pod doesn’t seem to be charging.
If you’re just heard the phrase ‘Tag and Ping’ and scratching your head in puzzlement – this article may be worth your time. Not that Tag and Ping is some magic marketing formula that will deliver untold riches. It won’t.
It is just one more marketing tool professional online marketers are using to give their site or sites a competitive edge over their competition. It will help put your site on the Internet map and if done right, Tag and Ping will deliver plenty of very targeted traffic to your sales pages. It will boost your rankings and increase your sales.
Tag and Ping is one of those simple, yet relatively unknown marketing techniques savvy Internet Marketers have been using and trying to keep quiet for years. To truly understand how Tag and Ping works, you will have to know some basic background information on keywords, blogging, tags, and how all these can work in sync to deliver traffic, links and sales to your site.
What are Blogs?
Most web users will know a blog is an online journal where bloggers post their daily or hourly entries (their opinions, views, info, links) on any subject that interests them. The most popular blogging systems are Blogger.com (owned by Google) Bloglines (owned by Ask Jeeves), LiveJournal, and many professional marketers use the free WordPress software which they can host on their own websites.
Each blog has its own RSS feed – RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication although its original acronym stood for Rich Site Summary. These RSS feeds broadcasts the information in the blog posts to all concerned parties – those who have subscribed and use an RSS reader or aggregator. Or more commonly, subscribers use the FireFox browser, Google Desktop, or MyYahoo to access their favorite RSS feeds. The next version of Windows will have RSS embedded into its operating system.
What are Tags?
Tags are really another name for keywords. Most surfers will know keywords are the exact words Internet users type into search engines to find what they’re looking on the world wide web. Tags work in the same way and are a form of social bookmarking, a way of classifying and accessing all that content in all those countless blogs.
Many major blogging directories such as Technorati use tags to serve up the information to its patrons. One simple technique to create a tag in Technocrati:
Laptops (remove asterisks in actual code)
Or if your blogging software supports categories; this will be recognized by Technorati as a tag.
What the heck is a Ping?
A ping is a simple way to notify the different search engines to let them know that your blog has been updated. You call up or ping your blog post.
You bookmark or place an entry in any one of the countless blogging sites such as Technorati, Furl, del.icio.us, Blinklist, Flickr — you go to these sites and click your blog or tag to inform them you have updated your blog. Many blogging systems will automatically ping your blog updates.
Or you can do this manually, for example Technorati’s ping form is here:
Simple Way to Ping
If this is still confusing to you, one simple way to ping your tags/blogs is to use a site like: and it will automatically ping your blog in many of the most popular blogging services.
Enter The Online Professional Marketers and It All Hits the Fan
Of course, online marketers have long discovered that the whole blogging system – blogs, rss, tags, pinging – is an excellent marketing vehicle. One great marketing system delivering targeted traffic to their products and services.
It really is a corruption or commercialization of blogging and this surely wasn’t the idea the original designers of blogs had in mind. But the whole blogging system is so lucrative, many professional marketers (the author is pleading the fifth!) are using blogging systems like WordPress to create mainly marketing sites that may have little resemblance to a real blog. It just uses the backbone structure of blogs, RSS, Tags to give their sites a slight competitive edge in a very competitive world.
As we saw with the ‘comment spam’ there is a great likelihood that Tag and Ping will be misused and further antagonize the blogging purists. So if you are going to use Tag and Ping make sure you’re creating valuable, usable content – then most sites will want to link to your site anyway. Content is still king no matter what tricks the professional marketers want to use. Always will be!
Using a Simple Tag and Ping Marketing Technique With Technorati
To explain further the whole idea of Tag and Ping. Lets just walk through a marketing system you can quickly create using Technorati – one of the most popular blogging services.
First, sign your blog up with Technorati. This is quite a simple procedure. Just upload a photo, doesn’t have to be of you – your site’s logo will do. Register your profile with your 20 or so tags relating to your blog. Make sure these are keywords you’re marketing with your blog. Then you have to place the Technorati code on your blog for a link back.
Next, you must understand that Technorati creates a landing page for each tag in their system. This page is made up of four parts:
• Flickr Photos
• Recent blog posts tagged with that keyword or phrase
• Who’s Blogging About sidebar which links to any profiles of blogs that those same keywords or phrase in their profile
• Links from Furl for the same tag
So to take full advantage and to use this marketing technique you have to sign up with both Flickr and Furl. Your aim is to get your links in all four spots on this Technorati landing page for your tag or keyword.
When signing up for Flickr, many marketers use their site’s name for their Flickr username – just use a dash instead of a dot in your site’s url. You can use a photo of the product they’re promoting to get a link from Flickr in the top spot on the Technorati landing page. Pick your tags and description for the product.
Set up a Furl account and download the Toolbar – bookmark a few sites to get the hang of how its done.
Now You’re Really To Put Everything Together To Tag and Ping
1- You can start with the Flickr photos at top of the Technorati page.
Just post a photo or cover image into your Flickr account, making sure you tag it and use a catchy headline in your description. Link it to your landing or affiliate page url. Don’t buy another
marketing tool until your check out this site.
2 - Next, make the first of your blog posts on your particular subject or product to your blog, making sure you tag it with your keywords and then ping Technorati. Make all your posts good content, reviews, product information or free downloads. Your entry will appear on the top of the list for that tag shortly in Technorati.
3 - Furl your blog post and your landing/affiliate page with your tags to make sure your entry/post is listed the bottom section of the Technorati page for your tag.
To work this system, add another blog post every few hours, Tag and Ping, plus Furl your posts. For better results you can sign up for countless other social bookmarking sites and bookmark your pages. Here are just a few good ones: del.icio.us, blinklist, moreover, icerocket, weblogs…
Flickr, Blog, Tag, Ping, Furl
This is just one Tag and Ping method – professional marketers have countless systems and sites working many variations on this relatively new marketing technique. But the information given above should get you started on your own Tag and Ping marketing system.
Remember, blogging and RSS are the wave of the future, make sure you’re geared up to take advantage of all they have to offer. You must have at least one blog on your site. Use WordPress if you can – Blogger will do in a pinch!
Just make sure you’re using some Ping and Tag marketing techniques to harvest all those links, traffic and sales for your site. This is one marketing technique you should now be using. Just remember to Flickr, Blog, Tag, Ping, Furl – Rinse and Repeat!

It’s difficult to provide accurate affordable web hosting package information, but we have gtwo through the rigor of putting together as much affordable web hosting package related information as possible. Even if you are searching for other information somehow related to web hosting domain names, coldfusion web hosting, managed hosting server or dedicated servers hosting this article should help a great deal.
Web hosting is an important part of your online business. It doesn’t matter whether you have a small or big business website, you must have a good web hosting company with high reliability and very least downtime. If your website company doesn’t give you high uptime and very poor load time than most of your visitors will close your website before opening up, and you will lose business in this way.
If you look at the advantages and disadvantages of Windows and Linux-based servers then neither is better than the other. You have to decide what your website needs in order to finalize the operating system on your server. You can use both these operating system’s for your advantage. Some developers love to use one over another because of what they are used to. Some developers decide certain operating system based on language they are coding. You will find pros and cons with both operating systems but keep in mind that website is made by the Web developer and not by the operating system.
You should find a Web hosting company that offers you an unlimited bandwidth so that you don’t have to bother with extra charges every month with bandwidth usage. There are many companies out there that will provide you unlimited bandwidth, but you have to make sure that you will get a good one that will not cause you problems or have outages.
As detailed as this article is, don’t forget that you can find more information about affordable web hosting package or any such information from any of the search engines out there such as MSN.com. Commit yourself to finding specific information therein about affordable web hosting package and you will.
There are many ways you can start search for your Web hosting company. One very common way is to start searching online. While searching online you can examine each of the companies that you come through the search results. You can read reviews and feedbacks about major hosting companies in various forums and discussion platforms. This can give you a fair idea about what the customers of these companies are saying about them.
In shared hosting in which all websites share the same IP address, if any website that is hosted on the same server is malicious and distributes spam then there is possibility of your website getting blacklisted as well. In dedicated hosting you don’t have to worry about such problems. Moreover, you can assign many IP addresses to your dedicated server, which will appear to search engines as different servers.
Web hosting company is responsible for ensuring that their customer websites are available 24 x 7 on the Internet. Do not concern only with the Internet connectivity and availability of the website because they are also responsible for providing sufficient amount of disk space on your server.
Many people searching for affordable web hosting package also searched online for cheap dedicated windows server, asp net hosting, and even how to dedicated server.
Windows seven might be one of Microsoft’s best operating systems, if it meets the promise shown by the unofficial pre-release version we have been testing for the past couple of days.
Let me preface these quick impressions of Redmond’s latest opus by claiming that I came to Windows 7 after having happily run the much-maligned Windows Vista on my Intel Core two Duo-based PC for the past 18 months .
I found Vista to be a deserving upgrade from Windows XP SP2.
Coming from this background, I’ve been pleased to discover over the past several days that Microsoft seems to have built on Vista’s strengths and addressed most of its deficiencies with the beta release of Windows 7.
I found the Windows 7 beta a painless install. The 33MB of updates quickly came down the pipe on loading the desktop. Click for gallery
Definitely, Windows seven had no problem at the same time installing and launching applications, downloading files, perusing the Web, and carrying out other jobs on our modest 2.8GHz Pentium four, which has only an 80GB IDE hard disk and 512MB of RAM.
Vista’s most plain annoyance, User Account Control, has been pared right back on its default setting, and we encountered it only 2 times throughout an entire morning of installing applications. However, if you’re feeling mawkish for UAC’s old behavior, you can easily change it back through Windows 7’s new Action Center, which now centralizes all of the safety updates and warning alerts that Windows throws your way.
Windows 7 commended that we install a third party antivirus package ( it advised Kaspersky and AVG ), but its antispyware package Defender comes preinstalled. Microsoft seems to have an antivirus package installed under the hood ; when downloading new software with Firefox, we were told that our downloads were being scanned for viruses.
I particularly like the new photo-realistic device icons, and the overhaul of the way Windows handles and ejects USB storage devices.
I also liked the overhaul of the Windows taskbar, particularly the slick graphics, but a bug prevented us from being able to use the preview function ( it showed a black rectangle instead ), and you will need to play with the taskbar settings to get this piece of the Windows 7 puzzle just right. It’s not difficult to get minimized windows mixed up with launcher buttons, for example.
I desire to stress that we did not test the Windows seven beta exhaustively, and business users will have to closely inspect deployment software and the way in which the operating system integrates into their existing environments, as well as its capability to work well with 3rd party software. For example, we were unable to get Adobe Systems’ Creative Suite 3 to install on Windows seven beta ; the installer told us we wanted to give up Internet Explorer first.
But perhaps the most important thing to notice about the software is that initially peek, it has much more of that nebulous’Windows XP feel’ than Vista ever did.
In general, this signals that Microsoft has spent a lot of effort with Windows seven on delivering a solid operating system that won’t'wow’ anybody but will satisfy them on a much more deep level. To paraphrase, just what the doctor–and the customers–ordered.

Netbooks are the new wave in mobile computing. First-time buyers are likely to be attracted to these small laptops because of their attractive price tags, while power users appreciate them because they are lighter than regular notebooks but still have full keyboards. Because netbooks are fairly popular, a great many new models have been released in the past few years, making it more difficult to decide which one is right for you. On top of that, traditional laptops are still an option that shouldn’t be ignored. If you’re after a multimedia experience, for example, a 17 inch laptop is going to provide a hands-down better picture than a netbook with a 7 inch screen.
Probably the most important factor you’ll be considering when looking for netbook or laptop will be price. On the low end of the spectrum, you can find several models with modest memory, disk space, and power for around $300. More pricey sub notebooks can cost as much if not more than a full-sized laptop, but provide more power without sacrificing portability. The price you need to spend on your netbook will depend on your needs. Web surfing, word-processing, and other simple tasks can be performed admirably by the less expensive machines, but for more hard-core gaming, running windows vista, and giving business presentations you will want a higher-end model. These distinctions aren’t always as simple as price, however, because some of the more expensive netbooks don’t offer enough added value to justify their inflated prices. To get a good deal, you need to look at the whole package including size, weight, disk storage, onboard RAM, battery life, and extra features.
If you’re buying your sub-notebook online, it can be difficult to judge what size computer will arrive once you order. Keep in mind that a seven inch model likely has a seven inch screen, but may be more like 10 inches long. These models can easily fit into a small messenger bag or a handbag, while larger models approach the size of a full sized laptop and will not. Netbooks generally weigh very little, which makes carrying them around easy, but if you want an ultra-light model you should compare the different weights. Keep in mind that, if you later buy a larger battery or other accessories, the weight of your computer will increase. Machines with more features will likely be heavier, so you will need to consider this before making a purchase.
To be sure of what you are buying, you will want begin your search with a little bit of technical knowledge. First, you are faced with a choice of operating systems. The most popular system today is Microsoft Windows, which you are probably using to read this article. Most netbooks can only run Windows XP, so if you are looking to use the new Vista operating system you will have a tougher time finding options, especially on the low end. Keep in mind that Windows costs money, even when it is bundled with your new computer, meaning that windows computers will cost about $40 more. The popular alternatives to Windows are various distributions of the free and user-friendly Linux operating system. Linux comes pre-installed on many netbooks as an option, costs nothing, and allows you to surf the web and do everyday work in the same way that Windows does. Most Linux software is free and the system tends to run faster on most hardware. This is why, among other reasons, major corporations tend to use Linux to run websites and other large-scale projects. The main disadvantage is that, while it is possible to run Windows software in Linux, popular games will probably not work very well if they work at all. Netbooks tend not to be ideal gaming platforms in general, however, so Linux has found a good niche in this market.
One thing that may be mystifying to new buyers is the variety of disk storage options that are available. Many netbooks use traditional hard drives (abbreviated HD), which offer greater storage capacity at reduced cost. If you need more than 10 gigabytes (gb) of space to store your everyday files, a hard drive will probably be the way to go. Unfortunately, hard drives tend to weigh a bit more and, because they have moving parts, can break more easily when dropped or bumped around. The lighter alternative is internal flash memory, referred to as a “solid-state drive” or SSD. SSDs tend to be between 4 and 8 gigabytes, with higher capacities costing significantly more. Four gigabytes tends to be enough for most users, even though conventional desktop computers offer more storage. You will reach the limit very quickly, however, if you want to store a lot of music and video content. The advantages of this SSD technology include somewhat increased access speed, and the reliability that comes with having no mechanical parts to break. Flash drives are limited by the number of read-write cycles the can undergo. After a few years of regular use, these drives will slow down and eventually fail predictably. Hard drives, on the other hand, can last for years or fail within the first month.
RAM, or random access memory, is used to store information in the computer about running programs. Running out of RAM can cause your computer to run at decreased performance. Very cheap netbooks can have as little as 64mb (megabytes) of memory, which is too small to run almost any useful kind of program. Most, however, offer something between 512mb and 1 gigabyte of RAM. Again, what you will need depends on what you plan to use your netbook for. For most tasks, 512mb is more than enough (you might even get by on 256mb), but if you tend to run a lot of programs at the same time, you should think about getting more memory. Most models will allow you to add memory later if you need it, which can extend the useful life of your computer.
Battery life is a sometimes forgotten, but very important consideration. Chances are, you will be carrying your netbook around with you and won’t have opportunities to charge it throughout the day. Battery capacity is measured in milliamperes per hour (MaH), but it is much easier to simply search for reviews of your product and find an estimate of battery life in hours. You can almost always buy a larger battery later on if you need one, but it is still good to check. Two hours is the absolute bare minimum time a battery should provide, but more is an added bonus. If you’re not ready to spring for an expensive battery, you can also increase the runtime by turning down the volume and screen brightness once you get your new computer.
Most netbooks offer extra features of one type or another. Asus, for example, sells models of their EEE PC computers with and without webcams. If you need a webcam from Asus, be prepared to pay a little bit more. Other special features include the ability to flip the screen and use the netbook as a tablet, and included bluetooth or extra-fast wireless cards. If these terms don’t mean anything to you, don’t worry because you probably don’t need these features. Sometimes it is possible to add more to your laptop later for a little extra cost as well.
If you’ve used these criteria to narrow down your netbook choices, your final task is to read a few reviews and make sure everything works well with your desired model before you buy it. There is nothing more disappointing than paying for something that is far below your expectations, so shop wisely. In today’s tech market, you can never be too careful with your money.
Sales resulting from Windows 7 in the first week after its launch last month got the better of Vista sales during the first week after its launch in January 2007 by 234%, based on a report from industry research firm NPD. Microsoft has certainly given the nod to the rumors that the operating system is doing well, but now it no longer appears to be an empty boast. The issue that the PC industry, which has been caught in a fix, needs to have dealt is whether Windows 7 sales will help revive the purchase for laptops and desktops. Also, companies and consumers could be purchasing the software and loading it onto the aging computers.
Most of the early reports show that Windows 7 should produce a relatively sharp surge in computer sales in the fourth quarter. Industry group Gartner expected PC units shipped worldwide to drop 5% in the third quarter. Sales were actually up about a percent which was better than expected to almost 81 million units. It was believed that falling PC prices and the surge in the sales of net books, which often cost less than $300 each, helped drive demand. The firms that performed best in the previous quarter were Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HPQ), Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), and Acer. These three companies are unusual because there is no pattern in pricing among the three companies. Apple PCs are normally at the highest end of the price range, HP in the middle, and Acer at the bottom. The recovery is widely-spread, in other words, and not restricted to a single portion of the industry.
The new Windows 7 was being pre-sold in the third quarter, this probably helped move PCs, but it is likely now that it is accessible to buyers immediately with each PC purchase, so that Windows should do a lot more to support a recovery in the computer industry. The Windows 7 got good reviews and the fact that a number of businesses and consumers want to get the Vista off their machines should accelerate the demand for new software on which Windows 7 is loaded.
PC sales may also be boosted by the normal replacement cycle which was thrown off by the recession. The normal computer is probably older than it has been at any time in the last decade. PC prices are sinking. That is good news in general. Two forces are driving replacement and not just a single one. But something is not certain and that is whether the rush to get Windows 7 will encourage all PC companies the same or whether some will do a lot good than others as the industry improves. Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) will continue to do bad, if recent history is any indication. The company has still not surprised many by manufacturing models that the public finds hold up well next to HP products and Apple Macs. Acer and Lenovo have improvised on their computers and seem to have the advantage of low cost labor. Mac sales in particular should be grabbing market share from Dell. Apple’s most recent quarterly earnings reveals that Mac sales are actually accelerating. Microsoft’s earnings should be a lot better than predicted in upcoming quarters.
